NEXT GEN CPUS

In 2017, Intel launched one of their most ambitious new CPU platforms in years – X-Series. I managed the launch of the product for Newegg, crafting a series of exclusive videos and articles with Intel’s core partners: ASUS, MSI and GIGABYTE.

UNDERSTANDING MARKET POSITION

Intel X-Series CPUs — with 4 to 18 cores and priced from $229 to $2999 — presented a very challenging marketing launch. Of all Intel products, they were targeted at the widest range of customers and applications, from pure gaming and VR to high-end enterprise solutions.

To guide the customer to be the right product, I created detailed guides with companion marketing campaigns to cut through the confusion and drive sales.

SUCCESS

The Intel X-Series launch at Newegg was an across-the-board success: units sold out immediately, articles gained top SEO, and, interestingly, the custom-branded content was able to overcome certain marketing issues Intel’s in-house advertising encountered. Where Intel’s original launch had a troubling negative response from the community, our custom content was able to get out ahead of customer objections and make the launch a success.
